Malaysia enforces new import rules for overseas-assembled electric vehicles from July

Malaysia’s trade ministry has announced new import regulations for fully assembled electric vehicles from overseas manufacturers, effective July 1. The regulations replace a previous tax exemption period that has expired. The new rules will apply to all overseas-assembled electric vehicles entering the country.
